So recently the Canadian Idol auditions were held here in St.John’s and through a mutual friend I met Zack Werner. Who after two minutes of meeting asked me to do a photo shoot with him. So last Wed. me, my best friend Kerri D, and Sandy Stokes headed up to the Fairmont to help with makeup and hair for the shoot. Not really Sandy though, he was just there for moral support.
Getting ready took a little longer and we quickly lost all usable light so we ended up at Taboo Tattoos and did the shoot there. BIG shout out to Andrea D. the owner of the shop, be sure to check them out at 604 Water Street. Andrea quickly went from supervising the shoot to being involved. I wasn’t planning an inside shoot so all I had on me was my sb600 so we did what we could, I shoved on the 50mm 1.8 for most of the shots and went to work. It was challanging, being in such a small area with no ideal lighting situation present but we made it work for us. I found editing them a bit hard, they were so intense, but I’m getting good reviews on them. This was my first ‘Celebrity Shoot’ outside of concerts, and I got a taste of something I adore. Bring it on.
Zack finally got back to me today about the shoots and turns out he really loves them. To me they’re very Joker-esque. It’s not a concert shoot, but this man does have a bit to do with the Music Industry and is a musician himself, so I’m justified in putting this here! (ha ha)
